SIA Jifteco, in cooperation with the Forest Industry Competence Centre, within the research direction “Increasing productivity through raising the volume of R&D investments” of the agreement No. 5.1.1.2.i.0/2/24/A/CFLA/001 signed with CFLA, is implementing the research project JP10 “Technology for Providing Additional Nutrients to Effectively Improve the Juvenile Growth of Selected Conifer Trees”.
During the first and second quarters of project implementation, the following activities have been initiated:

Activity – Modelling of fertilizer composition in the laboratory.
Description. This activity has been completed during the reporting period. A slow-release organic fertilizer formulation has been developed for spruce and pine seedlings. -
Activity – Modelling of fertilizer coating in the laboratory.
Description. This activity is ongoing during the reporting period, with work continuing on modelling fertilizer granule coatings. -
Activity – Establishment of the experiment.
Description. This activity is ongoing during the reporting period, with work continuing on the development of the experiment setup methodology.
The project is planned to run for 19 months (01.04.2025–31.10.2026) and will consist of the following activities: laboratory modelling of fertilizer composition, laboratory modelling of fertilizer coating, establishment of the experiment, testing of fertilizer coating, modelling of improved fertilizer and coating formulations, ensuring the fertilizer granulation process, improved experiment setup (season 2), testing of fertilizer coating (season 2), performance of measurements and preparation of the report.
The total planned budget is EUR 275,700.00, including EUR 203,820.00 of co-financing from the European Union Recovery Fund.
